Candidate rights: access,

deletion, and correction

How to fulfill a candidate's request to see their data, delete their data, or correct something on their profile.

Start with the right question

When a candidate writes to ask about their data, the first question is not what does Talinty do. It is what does the law that

applies to this candidate require, and how does Talinty help me meet it.

Talinty operates as a data processor for your workspace. The legal obligations to the candidate are yours. The mechanics

inside the platform are designed to help you meet them quickly. The rest of this article is the mechanics.

If you are unsure which rules apply to a specific candidate's request, your legal counsel is the right resource. We do not

provide legal advice in this help center, on purpose.

Delete a candidate

To remove a candidate from your workspace:

Open the candidate's profile.

Click the actions menu in the top right.

Select "Delete candidate".

Confirm.

What happens:

The candidate disappears from your team's view immediately.

The candidate's profile, resume, assessment results, notes, and any AI-generated briefs are removed from our active

systems shortly afterward.

Routine backup copies are retained for a limited period as part of standard disaster-recovery practice, and are overwritten

on the normal backup rotation. They are not accessible for read or restore in the normal course of business.

The deletion is logged in your workspace's activity log. The log entry records who initiated the deletion and when. The

candidate's data is not in the log; only the fact of deletion.

Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a deleted candidate from backups for your convenience. If you delete in error, the

candidate will need to reapply.

Export a candidate's data

To give a candidate a copy of the data Talinty holds about them:

Open the candidate's profile.

Click the actions menu in the top right.

Select "Export data".

Choose the format (PDF for a readable summary, JSON for a machine-readable export).

Download the file.

The export includes everything Talinty has stored about the candidate that was sourced from the candidate: resume content,

application answers, assessment results, video interview recordings (as transcripts and links), and the communications they

sent and received through Talinty.

The export does not include internal information about the candidate that your team created and that was not shared with

them: private notes, panel feedback, internal scores, and AI-generated briefs. In most jurisdictions, internal evaluations are

not part of what the candidate is entitled to receive, but this varies. Confirm with your legal counsel before deciding whether

to include internal material.

Correct a candidate's record

To update information on a candidate's profile (a typo in their name, a wrong job title, an out-of-date phone number):

Open the candidate's profile.

Click the edit icon next to the field you need to change.

Make the correction and save.

Edits to candidate data are logged in the candidate's activity feed with the actor and timestamp. The previous value is not

preserved in the visible feed but is part of the audit log available to Admins.

Corrections do not retrigger AI scoring on their own. If the correction is material (a missed skill that was actually present, a

corrected years-of-experience), re-rank the pool or open the Talinty Assistant and ask it to re-evaluate the candidate against

the current Core Criteria.

When the candidate has not applied through your workspace

Talinty occasionally receives requests from candidates who do not know which workspace holds their data. We will direct

them back to the company they applied to, because that company is the data controller for their record, not Talinty.

This is the correct routing under most data-protection frameworks. If you receive a candidate inquiry that names Talinty as

the holder of their data, the response is usually a confirmation that you (the company they applied to) handle the request,

and an exported file from the steps above.

Bulk requests

If a candidate is in your workspace multiple times (separate applications to separate roles, or to different teams) and asks for

deletion or export across all of them, you can search the workspace by their email or name and apply the action to each

record.

There is no single one-click "delete this person everywhere" action by design. Each candidacy is a separate record, and we

do not want a deletion in one role to silently affect another role you have not opened. If you need a workspace-wide bulk

action for a specific candidate, contact support and we will run it with you.
